It's been many years since I shot a full-house .458 load in a #1H. I own one of those too, but can't really compare on the recoil.
The .475 Turnbull #1 is a C weight barrel, and the rifle is probably a pound lighter than the .458 with its heavier barrel. So yeah, it has significant recoil. I'm not flinching yet, but I'm not far from it.
Woodleigh's velocity recommendation creates a bit of a dilemma. Turnbull only shows 1875 fps as the top velocity for the caliber, so caution is indicated. Or I could say the hell with this abuse and load hard cast 425's at 1800 fps, and probably shoot through anything smaller than an elephant
