Glad you were able to pick it up and not have to put it on lay-away. There is something to be said for instant gratification. Good on ya!
For quite a while I thought of doing a 300 H&H on a Win. 1885, but just never pulled the trigger. I did find this one.
It started life out as a Rem. 700 Custom Shop Kevlar Synthetic, chambered for 375 H&H. The original owner decided he didn't like getting slapped by the 375. He sent it to Hill Country Rifle in New Braunsfels Tx. and had it accurized and Re-barreled to 300 H&H. ............... Got it cheap along with 5 boxes of premium Ammo. I was jazzed.
