Don't confuse your States, wherever that may be, with others. In most States, a "Sheriff" has no more legitimate authority than any other LEO. In Texas, for instance, all LEO's have EXACTLY the same authority and jurisdiction. The difference is that a Sheriff is tasked, by law, with jailing prisoners.


It doesn't take the "Constable of Precinct 1" to arrest him either. smile

That's a huge myth in Texas. I'm sure some constables have gotten elected because of it...
