For a while, Remington and Federal rifle ammo was packaged in 2 10 round plastic strips that were stacked together to fit into a cardboard box.
I've got a couple of the Federals that I've probably been using for 20 years. Either put it on my belt or drop in a coat pocket. I carry 4 cartridges of the 10 in the gun and the other 6 as spares.
My heavyweight orange coat has some shell loops sewn on the outside with a flap, I'll use that if I'm wearing the coat.
