When it was first introduced the Revolution was somewhere between the VX-1 and VX-2 in quality. In 2012 Leupold upgraded the entire VX-line of scopes. A current production VX-1 is essentially a pre-2012 VX-2.

The Revolution is a great scope, but for a few $$$$ more the current VX-1 is slightly better. If you can justify a little more money a current VX-2 is the most scope you can buy for the money right now. In my opinion anyway.
