Sunrise greeted us and promised a beautiful day.
Spotted a small bunch of cows headed for a thick piece of river bottom near a friends ranch.
Made a big circle and eased into the river bottom to head them off.
We snuck into position and watched the elk settle into thick stand of timber and then start to bed. ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE FENCE! Damn.
Told my buddy "Lets make a swing thru this bottom and see if we can't cut some other tracks."
We do and 200 yds later cut the tracks of 2 Mt. lions in the fresh snow.
Ranchers wife had some trail cam pics of one of the cats and was jacked up to get her 1st lion.
The rest of the story is fairly short.
A call was made and the dogs showed up an hour later.
1st cat treed in about 250 yes

Dalton was 1st up and scored on a beautiful tom.
We made a circle and cut the 2nd cats track re-released the hounds and caught the 2nd cat about 6 miles away after a good chase.[Linked Image]

Took awhile to get the rest of the crew to the tree and in the meantime Big Kitty was none to happy.
