Here is one of mine, a modern relic. This is my 1st year using it but so far it fits the roll. Not too heavy or light, built like a tank, shoots just a little over MOA with the green box Remington core-lokts and while I am careful with it I won't worry if it gets a scratch. The rifle has a nice balance, carries easy but still has enough weight to hold steady.
It's a J.C. Higgins model 50 in .30-06. It still wears the factory chrome lined barrel and has the left side wing safety. The only modifications are a Timney trigger, McMillan stock and green CeraKote paint.
While it's not much to look at it has a functional beauty that makes up for it. It's a great Mississippi white tail rifle.
