I checked mine, I have a VX-3 CDS and a VX-6 CDS-ZL. the dial on the 6 is considerably larger. I don't know if it's due to the difference between 1" tube and 30mm tube.
It's the difference in turrets, not 1" vs. 30mm tube size. They could probably have put VX-3 type turrets on the VX-6, but they designed a different turret system for the VX-6. Why, I don't know, but feel sure they do...
Anyway, it's a different set up.
