Whereabouts did the splits occur?
Splits were behind the tang, and the wood webbing inletted between the trigger and magazine box. This stock had the crossbolt, obviously not too effective.
Another gripe I had about the wood stock is that recoil would drive the bolt handle into my knuckle. Never happens with the McMillan stock.
