I've got a 3" 317 and it's a great trail gun; light, easy to pack and fun to shoot. But hard to shoot accurately double-action given how light the gun is relative to the trigger pull, which, common to all rimfire DA revolvers, has to be stiff enough to reliably ignite a wide range of ammunition.

All in all the 317 is a great little gun if you learn to live with its limitations and refrain from asking it to be something that it is not.
