Thanks compadre! Yeah that front sight jumps out like a new dime in a goats butt! Points really nice. See it real good. I need serious range time need to shoot this new one. As well as another 94 and my 64. All have peeps!
I have a Redfield Sourdough front sight and a Lyman #56A on a 1949 vintage 94 carbine in 25-35. When I got it, it had a huge white bead front sight that was about useless beyond 100 yards and totally useless when hunting snow covered ground in northern New England. Hard to beat the 64s, sadly so few people under age 40+/- appreciate the Winchester 94s and most have never seen, shot, or even heard of a 64.
PS - At one time, probably pre-WW2, Lyman sold a peep sight insert with a gold(?) ring around the outside of the insert that really drew the eye. Mostly, I just leave the inserts at home when I'm hunting and save them for the range.
