So I have my 10 shot 617 which I think is more fun than the 6 shots...at least 40% more fun. If there was no such thing as a 10 shot K-22, the revolver I'd own would be a S&W Model 18; that's IMO just the perfect DA .22lr revolver right there.

Now my 617 is a very good shooter, but I've never seen an old school 17 or 18 that wouldn't out shoot my 617, they were just made a little better. And they have 40% less chambers that could be mis-aligned. Still, the difference isn't all that big so I'm quite happy with my 617, but OH MAN, one of these days I'll grab me a model 18 just because I've been in love with them since the first time I saw one in Bob Milek's hands in an OLD issue of G&A magazine.
