I just took this off my recently purchased '56 FWT 30'06. Would appreciate any input identifying this rear sight. Looks like a 22G or 22K, but not exactly.
Looks like sheet metal old Buckhorn probably from Stevens or something similar. The 16A was probably the best barrel mounted rear sight Winchester ever offered. The exception might have been ERA-Recknagel they used to equip Express Magnums with in the 90s. Four dollar metal block filler plus quality scope is far better solution.
