I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Long straight stretch between Fallon and that indian reservation huh... .. Back in the day, my mom got a "being fuelish" ticket between Fallon and Hawthorne. She was supposedly doing about 140 in an old Bonneville. This was back when there was no speed limit...

155+ (that's the number the speedo needle was buried at) in a souped up 6.6 liter T/A.
140 or so on two wheels too many times. At that speed I'm too nervous and concentrating on the road to take a hard look at the gauge...Too old for that foolishness any more though.

Street? 120-140 in a car. Glad I wasn't watching speedometer a few times on bikes. Self preservation kicked in to shut her down a bit.
Speaking of.. anybody been watching Isle of Man TT's last couple nights?

This thread causes me anxiety from thinking back on what I used to do with motorcycles. I still like to twist 'em up a little here and there, but for the most part my need for speed has been quelled. These days I like to get out on the country roads around the horse farms and just loaf around at 50 mph. There's usually hardly any traffic at all on a lot of them and the roads are kept in good shape because the county government likes to keep the horse farm areas very well maintained. It's a fairly unique situation. Ride 3 miles out of town and there's a very large, nicely manicured countryside area with miles upon miles of nice two lane roads with hardly any traffic. This stuff is all over the place.

I got up to about 150 on my buddy's bike one time. The front wheel started to float, and I said [bleep] this and dropped about 90 MPH of speed quick.

About 145 on a bike...maybe a little more than that in an old Pantera with a big block Ford...Spookiest though was an old drag boat brother had it too was a big Ford V drive and would do 100 pretty consistently...wild ride that one...

If the speedo and the tach are to be believed, 177 in a BMW M1. I may have gone a little faster on a turbocharged Suzuki GSX 1100E, but since the speedo was buried and I was trying not to become a smear on the asphalt, I'm not sure. I do know that I had such an adrenalin buzz after it lifted the front wheel at 150 plus, I had a hard time finding the kick stand when I stopped.

On a bike...Fast enough on the back to blow the the silver stuff off my dumb azzz buddies silver Porsche jacket back in my face. I looked at the needle and it was buried at 140. At that point I closed my eyes.
In a car. 911S. Could not snatch a Benjamin off the dash through the gears. As I recall top speed was about 150.
In the Popeyes offshore speed boat. Crazy fast!!
Atlanta Motor speedway in a NASCAR ride along promotion. Sick fast about 200+!!
Where I was driving. My own Porsche 911 turbo. 150 plus. Was the only time I felt safe.

I helped pack the in run at the world speed skiing championships, they let anyone who helped run the speed trap if they signed a waiver and had a helmet. Scared the crap out of me. Franz Weber set a new World Record the next day of 127+ MPH

8.02@171 1/4 mile in my sbf mustang with 2 kits on it. That's a big top end for that time. Strong horsepower car made a LOT of hp. and was light as hell, 2300 with me in it, 425c/i dart motor. first kit was a 38 jet on the fogger then a 102 on a induction solutions plate. problem was traction i didnt have the fancy electronics they have now with traction control etc, just a Digital 7 msd box, it got spirited when the 2nd kit came on. I only had the car at the track 3 times before i sold it, but its out on the east coast now, kicking ass on the street for BIG money.
