Went to Dallas today - it seems quality has dropped and prices skyrocketed since my last one years ago. Colts are thru the roof. Does the Dallas collector show have less dealers of modern guns than other shows? Or has quality just went south overall?

I used to go to several different gun shows in the area. Now I only go to one. It is small, but it still consists mainly of guns, ammo, and reloading supplies. The rest are overpriced flea markets.

As far as finding collector guns at gun shows, that's become a thing of the past with the advent of online auctions and sale venues.

I got tired of them when I lived in SE Alabama. Always the same guys, with the same overpriced guns, in the same place. That was about 30% of it. The rest was beef jerky, stun guns and the tinfoil crowd with books and bumper stickers.
Have been to one since moving to AZ, looks like it may be a nationwide trend.
There is no way to coexist no matter how many bumper stickers there are on Subaru bumpers!

Scoutmaster and several of us asst. scoutmasters would take a whole passel of scouts from our troop to the big show in the Astrohall in Houston back in the day. What a show they were!!!Turn em loose with their hard earned cash and tell em to be back at the front entrance at 3 pm for the ride home. Them boys would show up at 3 with tomahawks, fake samurai swords, fantasy knives, East German kit, the works!!!! We had an atypical troop.

They should make it more efficient... After pulling into the overcrowded parking lot an attendant should take 5 bucks and take a hammer ro your drivers door. Than you go 3 blocks and stand in line for 2 hoursupon which point you are charged 10 dollars, berated for your asking price, kicked in the nutz and force fed a 9 dollar hot dog that gives you giardia.

I used to regularly attend the Crossroads of the West show in Phoenix, hoping for the best, but finally stopped going. The prices were typically out the roof for pretty much anything/everything; I could buy basically the same stuff at Cabelas for less. And, as someome else observed, "gunshows" have largely deteriorated into flea markets selling plastic blow guns, "Ninja" swords imported from China, scented candles, tee shirts with pictures of dogs silk screened on the front, Watkins spices, and stun guns. Add the $6 parking and $12 admission to the mix, and you've pretty much wasted a day.

About par for the course in my area. I guess I was expecting ...or had my expectations set from the shows years back. Times have changed.

65BR: Never been to the Dallas Gunshow (nor Dallas for that matter) but I did attend a small gunshow here in SW Montana Friday. And I will be returning to it tomorrow. I bought numerous small items and sold 470 dollars worth of ammunition and a Rifle scope. Then I REALLY scored on an obama proof Ruger MKIII Hunter in AS NEW condition with a 2x6 scope on it and two magazines for $350.00! I already have one of these exact pistols but at that price I would buy them all day long! My two travel mates bought some small items as well but no guns. Yeah prices were high on most things but I was happy with the deals I made and everything I bought. And, I am going back to the show tomorrow to see if two spotting scopes I bid on Friday are still there and will sell at the prices I choose. I have attended gunshows in four different states so far this year and plan on hitting a gunshow in a fifth state next month! Indeed revolving pistols in excellent condition made by Colt AND by Smith & Wesson are increasing in value NOTICEABLY of recent. Long live gunshows and The Second Amendment. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
