Was wondering if anyone has used the new Winchester Deer Season XP round or if not what your thoughts are on the new design?? I like a tipped bullet with rapid expansion such as ballistic tips and hornady sst's. I hunt in eastern NC where the deer are not monsters and a rapidly expanding bullet for me seems to produce a higher percentage of DRT shots. The ballistic tips and sst's have always performed well for me but because I cant seem to leave well enough alone Im probably going to try the Winchester Deer Season XP rounds out this season. Thanks for your thoughts and replies in advance.

According to Winchester it has 'Massive Knockdown Power' I've also read that the Deer Season XP bullets have 'RACICALLY INCREASED IMPACT DIAMETER TECHNOLOGY'. You combine MKP and RIIDT and you can't go wrong!

You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

Scott DIdn't this stuff come out at the Shot Show? I doubt anyone but a few persons privy to Winchester ammo have shot anything with it. Never have had a deer run off after being hit with any 308 usually DRT or a 10 yard death run. I guess if you use FMJ they might run further.

Barnes 110 TTSX at 3100 fps in my .308. Longest tracking job was about 3 feet.

HAHA well I will probably stay away from the barrel deresa-somthingorother. Actually hadnt seen any of the marketing listed but have seen them for sale on a few of the big box store websites.
I like the price being near a dollar a round for factory ammo since I got out of reloading due to lack of time. Guess I will pick some up and see how it goes. Thanks all.

Can't imagine it not working, sans the stupid marketing.

According to Winchester it has 'Massive Knockdown Power' Nothing a deer rifle will shoot will also knock down a full size deer.
