I'm looking hard at picking up a new 375 H&H rifle, and the Kimber Caprivi has caught my eye. Everything I see so far is very favorable on this rifle. Any thoughts, experience, comments?

Doc: A good friend of mine has used one on several safaris. Likes it very much. Personally, I think I would go with the Model 70s you've been looking at (and the new ones are fine BTW). My 70 is one from 1992 that I've used on two safaris. Nothing wrong with the Caprivi though, other than it costs considerably more. J

Pretty! Since trophies can't be flown back, maybe taking a trophy rifle to shoot with is an option? (Mine's a Brno).

I have heard good reviews from 2 PHs. The clients were Kimber execs, but the pros said the rifles were accurate and nice looking. The accuracy is not surprising, both of mine are very accurate and easy to shoot well. I was really surprised by the relatively low recoil.

Back when they first came out, there were a lot of posts about quality problems. Specifically the barrel band kept coming loose. Kimber may have fixed their problems by now.
My LGS had bought six of them and IIRC they were selling for about $2800. I bought a Model 70 instead and was perfectly satisfied with it.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.
