In my set bikers were our heroes when we was teenagers. In hindsight, a LOT of that was probably because we didn't know any. As was common practice at the time my cousin who is more like my brother put 6" over front forks and a sissy bar on his CB750 and called it good, no frame mods at all How it handled I can't imagine.
But the movie? Ya, I didn't remember all the drug use either, mostly I just laugh now that we all took it so serious
What it DID do, is spin off what was far and away our most favorite TV series, maybe even more than "Combat". (We had outgrown "Batman" by that time, and our reasons for watching "I Dream of Jeannie" were entirely puerile )
