We have seen some bucks with the big velvet head horns. We should have cameras out.

Nathan is in waiting for anesthesia. Pretty serious guy, trying not to look nervous, doing a pretty good job of it too. Praying for Nathan, the doctors steady hand & Mom & Dad !!

So I'm starting to get the fever already. I'm not sure why I have it so soon but I do. I'm going to put up a trail cam this weekend already. At a potential stand site I've been looking at in aerial photos.
Usually I get it from not playing outside enough during the summer but that's not the case this time. I've been out plenty, fishing, camping, general goofing off, 4-wheeling.
I think I just got the bug. Yeah Tom, me to !! The old itch is starting to act up !
Paul.

I haven't been out at camp at all really. I hope there are some out there.
In the waiting room here, they just called me. Said he did fine and he is going to recovery now to wake up.

Good to hear! Did Nate say any goofy things coming out of it?

We are all home now. Nate looks like he needs some rest. He's doing good though.

I am very glad that all went well with Nate's procedure. Please pass on my wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

I have had two cameras up since late April. I guess I should go check them one of these days. Wish it wasn't 250 miles away. I am already working on which thunderstick to use this year. I always have the fever..
We did see several does up by Crane Lake last week.

I will put in for a tag. I always enjoy running around Fall River county and the wife has the Black Hills quilter retreat in that time frame.
One of these years we will get to have that cup of coffee or a cold beer.

I think the tags for deer got bumped up for NR as well. $286/buck tag. $80 for a doe.
I'm going to run a few rounds down my new to me Rem 700 in .280 Rem as well. All I have on hand are Fed Fusion 140gr. I got a Leupold vx2 on it now. I'm thinking of getting the free dails they send you now for your caliber/bullet so you just "click" it for yardage. Could be kinda sweet.

TJAY, the wife and I were up in that area camping at Jeanette Lake from Monday until today ... great little lake and camp ground. Weather was perfect. Blueberries were ready in wide open, sunny areas.
I only have one camera out so far. Have to get the others out soon. Been seeing several does with fawns around; one went through the yard with mom about 5pm tonight ... give that one some time and it might be the 12-pointer+ I've been waiting so long for.
I recently picked up a Savage 1899H 30-30 made in 1912, has the short 20" barrel. It should make for a heck of a nostalgic hunt this fall.

Well the number of horse flies it takes to lift ol tzone's fat ass off the ground is 17,433. It's a good thing there were only 17,432 or I would have been in trouble.
I did find a spot I liked, though it's closer to the road that I care for. I put out a camera and a mineral block.
The .280 was pretty sweet. She heats up quick woth that thin barrel though. I think I'm going to like the CDS system. I'll hopefully load up some 120 gr for it and sight it in with them.
