Listed below a circa 1915 99 in 30-30. Beautiful furniture and metal. I'm thinking must have been restocked and reblued. Is the piece untouched or not? I would love to have it but think it is overpriced.

That rifle trips my trigger too; but not the price. Somebody will buy it. I'm betting the wood isn't original, but don't know for sure.

Wood does not look original. Top of butt plate does not look like it is fitted correctly. Sights are correct.

Serial number is 95xxx, butt plate number is 129800, so not totally matching, Joe.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Not even. Pass at half the price. Mediocre work.

I don't see any furniture on it except for the butt plate. "Furniture" on a rifle denotes the appendages attached to the stock, ie: sling swivels, barrel bands, PG caps, butt plates, etc. The stock is, well, a stock. smile

Stock color in front and back does not match. Look above the lever where the stock meets the receiver, then look at the very bottom of the wood at each side. Looks like somebody took off too much wood in the refinishing or fitting process. If wood is original, then I would guess it has been refinished, by somebody who does not know 99's enough to be careful about this aspect.

The seller is in Lebanon, MO, not too far from Warsaw, where Bishop and Fajen were located.
