The search feature doesn't produce much about different types of checkering.

Anyone have pictures of different checkerings? I'm considering Brownell spade pattern, Fleur De Lis and ribbons, etc.

I'm not having any difficulty knowing where to get the work done, just which pattern to choose. Thanks for your time and any suggestions you might have!

For relevance: Wood stock, ebony tip, red recoil pad, skeleton grip cap, Model 70, 30-06. I'm shooting for a beautiful rifle, to use in the killing fields. If the stock gets absolutely beat to hell in the next 30 years I'll have it restocked. Or I'll be so fond of it by then maybe not.

Personal preference is a point pattern of some sort; just not a fan of either spades or fleur de lis.

Tim Smith-Lyon (Classic Checkering), in Utica, MS does very nice work, and generally has reasonable turn-around.

I like a point pattern myself. I had Sherry Abraham do a ribbon fleur de lis many moons ago. She's still checkering and does a great job.

Always admired Eleanor O'Connor's rifles.

That ^

I've always had point but love the class of the fleur de lis.

That symbol is now under attack as racist by the latest PC retardation. You really want a racist rifle crazy ?

I guess I sure do grin !

Here is one Tim did for me about 6-7 years ago. Not a ribbon pattern though. The turn around was fast and the price was fair. We had a little trouble communicating on the pattern style though. After the second trip back I was happier with it.
