I bought a used chrony off the fire I cant seem to get it to work .I put 3 diffarent battries in ,screen flashes error - 1 .Am I doing something wrong ?

Also with & without sky screen inside & out side same thing,just flashes error 1.

If it's mounted via a threaded stud make sure the stud is not too long. It will touch the PC board.

Went back outside it said Al so I shot through it with 22 rim then 7mm-08 seems to be working have not a clue .Thanks for the help. 2934 average for 10 shots RL15 120grn.BT Kimber Montana, will play with it more later

FWIW I have the same unit. For some reason it does weird stuff at times. In the 3-4 years I've owned it I've had 2-3 days when I just couldn't get a reading that made sense. Nothing I did could make it work so I'd just pack it up. Next outing it did fine.
When it works, it seems to work right. Most of the readings I get are very close to published numbers on factory loads and my handloads are usually just where the manuals say they should be.
But when it decides not to work, it doesn't work. Fortunately that isn't very often
Most people don't really want the truth.
