Winpoor if you ever shot one or better yet hunted with one you would love a 270. I like the 130gr NBT best but a Swift A Frame has flattened many a Mule Deer for me.
I recently found a very nice early 1950's FWT in 95% condition. I think a nice 270 FWT is one of the hardest M70's to come by. I wish more of you guys would post pictures of these nice fwt's. We need some more range reports too!!!!
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

If I would have known you are in the market for buying doubles, I would have offered you my 9.3x62mm that you wanted.... .... When is your Africa trip? I'd love to hear how that goes. Make sure you take plenty of pictures and post them here. Thanks!!!

Beware the man that calls the 270 gay, there is something lacking in his character...

I answered an ad in a local paper and sure enough, after a couple of phone calls, I arranged a meeting. Then it happened! I fell in love with a 270. Can you imagine? There she was. The old girl had some age on her. A 1955 Featherweight to be exact and some wear in the usual places. I cleaned her up and added an old Vari-X III, and took her out to the range. The first session was pretty intense, but fruitful. She shot factory 130 gr Hornady Whitetail ammo into less than one inch. donsm70 I'm happy with the .270's in the gun safe. Very nice Fwt you have.
