Have shot lots of racoons in traps and a few other critters that did not belong in my back yard. They arequiteeffective with proper bullet placement.

I've never found CB's to be very accurate in any rifle chambered for.22LR and therein lies their biggest weakness for me. Fortunately, I live where I can use a .22LR or a .243 or a 12 gauge for my around the yard pest control problems.

Backyard herd thinner of choice was once CCI 22 CB shorts.
I now use CCI Quiet 22 LRs instead. More accurate, better range, just as quiet and hit a bit harder. Plus they're much easier to load.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

I have killed many backyard pests with CB short. Can't find them anymore. Had some in my cart at Midway a few months ago and before I could log in to order them they were taken out of my cart and gone

I find the quiet 22's more accurate also.

CB short between the eyes at 20 feet, bang- flop flop flop flop flop. A friend of mine has the same rifle and uses cci sub sonic shorts (710 fps) to remove squirrels. His method is a small swing away panel in his garage window, bench rest, bird feeder (squirrel feeder?) with a ramp where he positions the bait to turn the squirrel broad side, and a steel back plate to catch any misses or pass through's.... If he wasn't retired, I would say he has too much time on his hands ;-)
Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?

Stories like that are what keep me going to work. Because I know I'd be right there with him, building rodent sniper posts. With a tripod mount.
