I am going to be loading for:
25-06 Remington with 100gr to 117gr bullets
280 Remington with 140gr to 150gr Bullets
338 Win Mag with 210gr to 225gr bullets.
What is your preferred powder to use in these cartridges?
Is anyone using the newer IMR powders, are you finding better accuracy with the newer powder?
Thank You Simplyme
I am Canadian.

My 25-06 Tikka likes RL22 with 110NABs. I have both a reduced load(think 257Roberts) and a full house load using the same powder. The lighter loads impacts about 1/2 inch lower at 100yds. No need to adjust the scope when swapping loads. I did have to go well past book max to get the velocity I was looking for(3100-3150) but I'm not seeing any pressure signs.
I'm interested to see the response on the 280 question, as I want to get started reloading for mine, with the same range of bullet weights. I'm thinking RL22 or one of the 4831s but want to see what everyone else thinks.
I don't own a 338 Win Mag and don't know anyone who does so I can't be much help there.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.

I use only 117gr bullet's in my 25-06. R-22 does really well.
Don't have a 280 anymore and not sure I remember what powder I did use. With a case that size I've always found a good place to start is IMR 4350
Haven't had a 338 in a long time either but big case's call for slow powder's. There I would start with IMR 4831. Of course those are only the powder's I like and I'm sure there are other's that work as well.

Norma MRP has been available, not sure about current stock. It's about the same, some say THE same, as RL-22.
No longer have a .25-06, but do have a 240 Wby. 100 NPT over a healthy charge of MRP is the best load.

DF Not the same. but kissing cousins. I prefer MRP over RL22 in the 25.06 with 110 - 120 pills. Loses less on the cold end and more predictable on the upper end of temps.

You might try RL-23 in places where you would use 22. I gave up on RL22 a long time ago due to wide pressure swings in the heat in a 7mm rem mag.

If I was just going to reach into the cabinet, I'd reach for H4831sc. It would work for any of the above applications. If however, I was starting from scratch, I"d try the new IMR powders,

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

IMR 4350, H4831, H4350 and RL19.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Thank You Simplyme H4350 in all of them.

H4350 will definitely work, but so will H4831, and is much more available right now.

If you wanted one powder that I'd try in all of them, Hybrid 100V.
