I have used large doses of B vitamins to keep the mosquitos from biting but can't remember which particular B vitamin is the one I used. Does anyone know which one is effective or whether I need to use a B complex?

Vitamin B1 has long been recommended.
Eating garlic allegedly works also.

Tried vitamin B1 one entire summer just to see. It didn't repel mosquitoes to a noticeable degree. But around other people the mosquitoes seemed to prefer them. I wasn't bothered nearly as much as they.
Now beans are a rich source of vitamin B, you can repel mosquitoes and people at the same time. So is beer (handy excuse).

Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

I've been taking not only a vitamin B complex for years, but also odorless garlic supplements, I seldom get skeeter bit, even while out in thick, green woods squirrel hunting.

I've learned to keep my mouth shut and that keeps the bugs out.

Large doses of B1 don't work for everybody. You have to be an "excreter". My wife can take it and bugs ignore her. It doesn't work for me.

Large amounts of B1 and Garlic will probably repel humans too...
