I think the idea of a camera while hunting is great. To utilize with lighted nocks so you can observe hit location before tracking. The go pro is to wide angle. I'm thinking about something 4x zoom mounted on the bow. All the videos I see filmed by mounted camera , the deer looks like an ant. You can't tell anything, really.

The catch 22 of a camera with a zoom is it's likely to have a wobbly image and a narrow fov so unless you're spot on you won't be seeing the deer in the video. Here's a thread on the tacticam with some footage: http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2098302

I have one of these I'm trying to figure out how to get to work with a fishing rod.
unfortunately it will not work well on the rod because a rod flexes too much. So I guess it will have to be a " hat cam" with some type of mount rigged up.
I like that the distance seen in this camera is what the actual distance is. Most Cameras make the target look really far away from the shooter, or with a Zoom way closer. They built this with lenses that look as far away on the video as it really is to the eye of the shooter when it happened.

I have been using a Shot Trak HD for a couple years and really like it. Had to make my own mounts for compound and crossbow but it takes really good video for about $100. Tom
