Not to cast aspersions on a nice old rifle, but does it appear to anyone else that the color of the floor plate is darker than the other bluing? Does this indicate a replacement part, perhaps of anodized aluminum? Weren't the floor plates steel except on the Featherweight?

I think the difference is from the photo. I'll give it a close look over when it arrives and report back. I should have it in probably two weeks with the mail time.

The trip in the sun will tell the tale, my money is on stone cold nice factory with VERY little use AND you damn near cannot wear a 22 hornet out! I have a poor mans 70 in 218 bee with 5K plus rounds and it still shoots less than an inch with old yellow box factory ammo! good snag, when its all said and done it will prove to be a good investment! Beats Madof (sp?) all day every day!!!! very best WinPoor

In the end I bet you make a 10% return on investment! very best WinPoor

We were able to negotiate what I considered a fair price. It's all in the wait game for now. I'll bet the scope has regular cross hairs and not the duplex reticle and if that's the case I probably won't be able to see them.
I'm working up a load for that 243 varmint of yours. It's going o Wyoming for prairie dogs.

I picked her up at the Post Office Thursday am on my way north. I threw in a box of shells just in case. The gun is in excellent condition and is IMHO all original and untouched. The scope has cross hairs which are hard for me to see in field conditions. I did get to test her out on a range and it was dead on at 100 yards. It is a very nice rifle.

Local dirt, Both of my Mothers ,brothers followed Patton all over Europe in WWII, they thought HE was GOD, both were lifers and are buried in Arlington National , The reason I mention is I used to get arm patches from them as a young boy and my favorite was like your 10th, except it was 8th ( I Think) Hell on Wheels ?Both were tankers and both took a bullet and survived and kept fighting. I know it was my all time favorite patch!! Anyhow thanks for your service....the very best WinPoor

Mr GSP, 300 once fired swift hulls are fast mailed and OTW, all Hornady and same lot ,I think. Since you cannot see thru the scope lets work a trade on that HORNET ! My un fired since the WP stamp , Alaskan 338 win mag? Heck I will throw in a half case 230 gr Failsafe ammo! v best winpoor

I guess the gun is truly about as nice as it gets, good eye Bob.... GSP enjoy the gun, it's a treasure....

WP I have NO use for a plastic stock. I have two truths that I hold dear, 1) A womans breasts should be what God gave her barring any medical trauma causing enhancement 2) gunstocks should be wood and the nicer the better.
I'll hold on to the Hornet and maybe rescope it but I do have another one I shoot and will take that out west. IF I decide to part with it I'll give you first right of refusal.
Thanks again for the Swift brass, two varmint rifles a Cooper and a M70 will appreciate them. The prairie dogs probably not so much:)

On the plastic tits, I had one gal in the go -go 80's in Tallahassee and she looked like she stepped out of Penthouse! You could pull and bite em 'like a bulldog puppy and she could hardly feel it, was like sucking on your knee!!! But Lord did she have a sweet azz!!!!!! LOL, SOB cost me a good woman for a year!!!! Thats when I learned a smart coon does not chit in his own back yard, I bought a plane and learned to fly!!! Its hard to get caught 200 miles from home!!! v best WinPoor
