Mine has worked great with 120 Ballistic Tips and the 129 Hornady PSP on deer and coyotes.

Mine has worked well on deer and antelope.

130 VLD over 43.5 H4350.

Very Good News to me. I finally received my 120 N BTs and will begin load development AS SOON as our HEAT wave subsides.

I love the mass and figure in that buck's rack.

Daughter used her 260 Ti to kill a bull moose year before last in BC and last year on a 5 Pt. bull elk here in Colo. 140 grain Core Lokt factory loads. Worked pretty good.

Blasphemy. Can't happen. You are a liar. Only custom ammo loaded with premium bullets at maximum pressure in an Improved chamber MIGHT do it.

Mailmanmark: I got in on the 260 Remington game/fad late.
I got my first 260 Remington Rifle back in 2,003.
My Rifle is a 26" heavy barreled Remington 700 VLS.
It shoots VERY well indeed.
To date I have killed Antelope, Mule Deer and Whitetailed Deer with it, and several long range Coyotes.
One of my Antelope kills was just over 500 yards (Leica lasered) and two were over 400 yards.
I use the wonderful Nosler 100 grain Ballistic Tips in my Rifle and that bullet is VERY lethal on said game.
I don't ever recall having to shoot a Deer or an Antelope more than once.
This bullet is a bit "rippy" on Coyote hides especially if a shoulder is encountered.
I have only shot one Rock Chuck with this Rifle/cartridge and that was a spectacular sight.
Said Rock Chuck lifted off like a helicopter and spiraled back about fifteen feet past the rock he had been sunbathing on.
The recoil with my Rifle/bullet set-up is amazingly low.
I often spot my hits on game.
I have a Leupold 6.5x20 variable on my rig so it is "hefty".

As Huntsman22 kindly pointed out, the .260 ain't afraid of elk.

On my maiden voyage with my new .260 I popped this nice Roosie cow with the Hornaday 129 Innerlok sp at about 100 yards. One, is all it took.



I like to think of it as my .270 lite.....

I have killed more than a few whitetail with the 100 gr Nosler BT.
On my new 260, I plan to run a little heavier bullet to up the BC. Have not decided on what that will be just yet but in my light weight 260 the 100 gr BT's are death on whatever they hit.

How 'bout some data on those 100 gr. BTs, please.

Full book load of H414 with WWLRP. Played with the seating depth until it hit a home run. Same load on 3 rigs with similar results just different seating depths.

All are 3 shot groups, if you look at the note on the paper is says 49G, that is WRONG, it should be 46 gr.

slightly off topic, but the 100g BT discussions are very interesting. How slow can I load Nosler 100g BT reduced recoil short range whitetail loads?

We got my daughter's 70 FW 6.5x55 back from Lee, and he did his usual fantastic job.

Her new elevated stand has several whitetail trails in close (50, 70, & 110 yards) so just concentrating on best close range terminal performance with lowest recoil.Tennessee deer are pretty small, but the brush is heavy in the hollow and I don't want to track very far.

Is 100g Ballistic Tip my best choice for her situation, and how slow is still acceptable?

I believe Dober had some 90gr TNT loads that made good lung jelly.

I PM'd Seafire about this awhile back. I am trying to work up a load for my nephew. He recommended 29-30gr of IMR4198 with a 100gr bullet. I've tried it with both Hornady and Sierra 100gr bullets, but not the NBTs. Getting decent groups at 2500-2600. Recoil and blast are both very light. Gonna try adusting seating depth next to try and tighten up the groups a little.

I like the 95 grain VMax for predators and the 100 grain Partition for deer. I'm sure that any 100 grain 0.264" bullet would work fine for deer, but I've had such good outcomes shooting partitions at game from my 0.224", 0.243", 0.257", and 0.264" bore rifles that I haven't found a good reason to change.

I have shot a number of whitetail does with the 95 grain VMax, but they were all shot under conditions where I could pick my shot and shoot them behind the should and through the lungs. All died promptly, but none that I recall had the through/through penetration that is a given when shooting Partitions.
