Can the RAR actually handle the rimfire short mag, pressures and length?

I like the idea of the round, especially with it priced about the same as the HMR. I don't like the B mag and Ruger's 77/17 is a bit pricy for me.

+1 and then make it a lefty!

thanks John, I assumed Darrik is who you were referring to, I'll check with him.

even though I'm not in love with the B mag, I may end up with one, they are pretty inexpensive and the shelves here are full of 17 wsm at good prices which is very tempting. The round seems pretty adept at turning small and medium varmints to goo.

There's at least one of the Ruger bolt guns on Gunbroker for $800. Stainless, walnut. Not much more than I paid for my RSI .22LR.

What fresh Hell is this?

Yep. Down here in the south it's similar regs on public land so a higher powered rimfire is appealing.

Thinking about getting a 12" 17 wsm barrel for a Contender sometime soon.

I have one of the original B-Mags and it shoots pretty darn good. I have shot it a ton with no issues whatsoever. I guess I got lucky. I do admit that the stock is pathetic.
