Been a member for over a year. Great product at a great price!! Those "One Wipe Charlie's" are great for bush dumps!

The dollar shave guys are brilliant.
The company that actually makes the razors is called Dorco and has been around forever. DSC just acts as the middle man and sends them to you every month. If you buy the razors that are dorco branded and directly through amazon, they are much cheaper, even with 2 day shipping. Exact same thing.
Look up Dorco razors on amazon if you like DSC or are thinking of trying it.

My straight razor has not cost a nickel since I bought it One of these days I'll man up and get a straight razor. Would this one be a good starter? Should work, I like a straight blade with square corners to get into tight spaces. Get a good strop and use a lot of soap and a good boars hair brush. Will rethink if I get Parkinsons

Schick disposables work me for me and are cheap. Are the expensive ones better? Yes, but not enough to justify the cost.

That is more than I spend on Feather Brand blades to do my face and head and I get a way better shave than I ever did using multi edge blades.

Gillette FatBoy Adjustable ($2 yard sale), Dorko Blades ($8/100, Amazon Prime) and I am set for 2 years. Disclaimer: I used to work for Gillette years ago and was truly impressed with its R&D and quality standards. As such, I participated as a volunteer in extensive shave tests of blades made in its factories around the world as well as those of many competitors. The discontinued Fat Boy safety razors are the class of the pack. One can still get them on eBay and I recommend the ones that have been tuned up and re-plated in gold as easier to clean and maintain. Gillette no longer seems to make double edge blades in the US, but they still are made in many of its other factories and available very cheaply in quantity. I like the Indian Gillette/Wilkinson stainless ones, available on eBay. In the old days, Feather blades were rather poor in my opinion, but the ones today are outstanding. They are so sharp that I typically cut myself on the first shave with each new blade. Aside from that, they are wonderful. I personally do not care for Merkur blades or razors. The blades are not as sharp or long-lasting and the "three-piece" razors, to use the original Gillette terminology (it patented them long ago and the patent expired), are poorly chrome-plated (maybe nickel) and they flake, leaving places that drag on your skin. You'd do much better with an adjustable from Gillette or even Feather. That's my opinion, but as they say, everyone has one.

I use the Gillette Mach 3. I buy the mega-pack of blades from Costco and run them eight weeks or so. More than pleased.

Dollar Shave Club ROCKS. used to spend a ton on three-bladed Gillette and use em way too long but now get equal quality for far less and can toss em when it's time w/o feeling like a spendthrift.

single blades rock, my stubble is like fence wire. The reason I went to a straight razor was I could not clean the shaved stubble off a blade and disposables just clogged up Russ

Another safety razor guy here. I bought a handle and 100pk of razors 3 years ago and I doubt I'm even half way through the blades. My current puck of soap is going on a little over a year, I think I'll get another couple months out of it. Really can't see ever going back to disposable razors, I used one in a pinch a week or so ago and it was not a comfortable experience.
