I currently have a Shield 9mm and I like it so far. I can honestly say that I'm partial to Glocks though. The new Glock 43 has my attention and I'm considering selling my Shield and buying one. For those of you that have shot both guns, which do you prefer and why?

Don't sell your shield until you have a G43. Shoot them side by side and then decide for yourself.
I had a shield 9mm for a couple of weeks and never fell in love with it.
Haven't shot a G43 yet, but I like my G42 awfully well. (Better than the Shield)

I have both and like both. My wife liked the Shield better and claimed it, so I use the 43. I like the Shield a little better, but it's just personal preference. I've put a bunch of rounds through both without a problem from either.

I've owned 3 separate Shields over the years and also have a G43. The G43 gets carried alot while all 3 Shields have gone down the road.

I like my shield a lot. The G43 hasn't hit my hands yet. The G43's bigger siblings usually don't do it for me in the ergos, but they run well.

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

We had three or four really good shooters fire the 43 and Shield back to back for accuracy at speed. And we found no serious differences could be repeated.
I believe the Shield was a bit longer in the grip, but it also holds an extra round I think.
I'd flip a coin or get whatever feels better.
your flippant remarks which you so adeptly sling

The Shield’s grip fits my hand better than the Glock’s grip. The extra length of the backstrap really helps, at least for me.

I have the Shield in 40 and have yet to try the Glock 43 . I wish my Shield didn't have the manual safety. I carry the Glock 19 most of the time and not sure the 43 would be worth purchasing. Will have to look at one and decide then. I do like the Shield. Plus I have the Kahr P9 also.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

I bought a glock 43 yesterday.I also own a 9mm S&W shield.I went out today with both and shot the pi$$ out of them. Both pistols devoured all of the 400 rounds I put threw each of them with NO hiccups. Both were very accurate.I like the grip feel and finish on the shield better. The trigger is better on the glock IMHO.The glock is easier to clean.

I worked on the trigger of my G43 last night and did this today: 5 rounds at 10y, sitting on some stairs with my elbows on my knees. I figure out that I need to use the "power crease" to shoot this thing when I realized that the trigger now feels like a DA revolver - no wall at all

What did you do to trigger? Polish? I called Wolfe looking for a spring kit, don't have it yet. My PM9 is more accurate but that is probably my shooting and the trigger in the 43.

If your wanting it for protection the one that holds the most bullets wins every time. When the SHTF every round will count.
Example = kid runs out in front of you and you hit him. You stop and all of a sudden you realize your in a bad part of town and here comes the mob. Might not hurt to have a Glock 26 or 27 with a couple 33 rounders.

My P9 gave me many years of reliable service, but after many years of being my go to carry gun, and range gun, the mag catch parts wore out, and now the mag will drop under recoil. I need to send it back to Kahr and get that fixed.
