I gave an example of a true story .

If you read much news you have read the story.

So let me get this straight....your argument for needing more than a single stack pistol for concealed carry use revolves around you running over a child, then needing high capacity mags to take out scores of the child’s friends and family when they come to help?

You are the poster child for why we need to keep abortion legal.

I also read in the news that we were all going to die from ebola.

And that yellowstone is about to blow up.

If I worried about all that and mobs in the hood, I'd just stay glued to the couch, watch fox news, and post on the freakshow all day.

My favorite EDC knife is a 30" machete. You never know when you're going to have to fight your way out of dense jungle vegetation, and you can never be too prepared.

To answer the original question -

I too am a glock guy at heart. I have 7 or so and I love my glocks. For many years I dreamed of the day when I could purchase a single stack 9.

With the release of the shield several years back, I bought one to hold me over until glock came out with theirs. Turns out that I love the shield. I'm not a fan of the bigger M&P guns, but the trigger on my shield is terrific. I may be in the minority, but I also like the safety on it. I live in a very low risk area and I like having it. I shoot the shield very well and feel like I can trust it with my life. I've never had a problem with it.

I also have the glock 42 and 43 and love them both, but I've got a bond with that shield. I don't see any reason to switch it out at this point. There is no real "better" or "worse", it's just a matter of which one you feel more comfortable with. They are both terrific pistols.

You registered over 2 years ago and waited until today to start dispensing sage wisdom like that? Every time? Really?

I finally got a chance to run a couple magazines through a 43 this past weekend.

I was impressed. I'll likely add one when the rush dies down.

I handled a 43 at a local gun shop a month or two ago. Cool conceptually, but owing to my general dislike of Glocks (for ergonomic reasons) I didn't get it. If I had been able to try one out first I may have changed my mind, but the opportunity doesn't present itself at the moment. I was actually caught off guard by it, since I first discovered such a model existed when I saw it in the display case there at the shop.

II had a Shield 40 and loved the size. My only issues were that the controls were difficult for me to manipulate

i do love my Kahr CW-9

That is exactly what happened last yr in Milwaukee. A tree cutter bumped a black kid running across the road. He gets out to make sure he was ok. A bunch of mannerly locals beat that guy half to death and would have but a black lady came out of her house with a gun and said, " leave him or I start shooting" They left him alone and it made about a 10 second new blip and that was it cause it was an armed black lady saving white boys life .

I think the guy would have been just fine with a 6 or 7 rounder...unless he wanted to just kill a neighborhood of folks. After the first one I think he would have to start looking for people for the remaining 32 rounds....
