I was about to purchase a vx 2 3x9 or 4x12 to use on a 300 win and found a really good deal online for the meopro 3.5-10x 44. I've owned tons of leupolds but am willing to try something different. I'm also trying to stay in the $400 range as this rifle is not one of my most frequently used. Any opinions comparing the two, particularly at low light would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 3-9x42.
I favor it over a Zeiss conquest.

Without question, the MEOPRO. It compares to my Z6 for a lot less. The only detractor to me is the typical huge and bulky ocular that all Euros suffer from.
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

no way on a model 70. Take a look at this Zeiss on one of my 70s, the bolt barely clears and I had to use high rings:

I would take a meopro any and everyday over leaupold. I've not dealt with the vx6 but that's a different price bracket. Get one with a #4 reticle and its ausome low light scope

Try the Meopta, you will be surprised by how nice it is.

I like the Leupolds for light weight and eyebox,Conquests for the optics. My new Meopta Meopro 3.5-10x44 has been to the range once, but I am impressed so far, great glass.

I have one with the German #4 reticle that I purchased from Camera Land. Great scope, was going to mount it on my CZ 550 American but would have had to go from medium to high rings because of the ocular. So it sits on a Vanguard. I would definitely buy another and in low light it blows my one VX3 out of the water.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
