I don't believe that any of the Central or South American made Mausers are held with the same degree of regard as those made in Europe during peace time. I have a couple of rifles built on 1908 Brazilian Mausers that were built by DWM and think that they are as good an action as any other pre-WW2 military Mauser action made during peace time. Because of the tropical climate, a lot of Brazilian Mausers that I have seen have noticeable pitting below the wood.

Jeff, that action is fine. My Dad had several rifles built on them and one was a .308...can't get much hotter than that. powdr

Jeff, The action is a standard model 1954 Brazilian 98 large ring mauser. The Model 1954 was actually made in Brazil unlike the 1908 Brazilian Mauser which was made by DWN in Germany.
