I'm not ready to snort and rattle yet, but I'd like to knock the hell out of some birds! It's been a while. I shot a few last year, but didn't go actually hunt for them. It was strictly by chance while doing other woods stuff. This year we're going to though because the kid can shoot them. So buy some stock in Federal Cartridge, we're going to be going through a lot of .410 shells.

Nice work my man! Gopher won't hit any grouse but he'll look good doing it. You're only half right there T-the gun will look fine, but I am long from looking good doing it! I hope you pop a few with that Jeff. It will be pretty sweet.

I got the stock back tonight. Man, it's beautiful. I all most hate to put it back on the gun. I'm chomping at the bit to get this out and see if it cycles. I'm into this for $105.00. To come up with a useable semi-auto for that money would be great. Me thinks the grouse should be running scared right now.

Let's talk about some time to go. Once I get past the wedding, I've just got that one weekend of deer recon planned, outside of that, I'm good to go. A little cast and blast action would be nice!

Just run a few through it out in the garage. If she cycles, she'll shoot.
If not, my Andy, my BIL can probably look it over for you. He's not too far from you at all.

Is it just me, or is anyone else going out into the yard early, sitting in their stand, in camo, and shooting red squirrels with a pellet gun as "practice" for what is just ahead of us?????
49 degrees this morning.

No. Nobody else is doing that. It's too early. We cannot think about that stuff in August. It's still going to be 90*. We just can't! However, someone forgot to tell the 6 bucks I saw this morning on my way to work. 4 of them were big velvet 8's all running together. 15-16" wide and TAAAAAAL racks. But who's looking at that, it's too early.

Just got caught up to speed on here, was on vacation. Family went to Yellow Stone and Tetons. Kids did good hiked 54 miles in 4 days pretty proud of them for being 7 and 10. Saw lots of cool stuff. Saw all animals except for bear and moose.
Amazed on the stupidity of people out there. Two differ times seen Japanese tourists put there fingers in the geysers. Whu that hot they would say. Really buddy what gives that away the steam and boiling water.
And people getting crazy excited over chipmunks. My kids kept on asking me Dad why are these people so excited over a chipmunk. I said dont know there probably from California probably never seen animals before. Its a concrete jungle there kids.

Deer season is open here in the southern or lower part of South Carolina. The northern or up country part opens to archery on Sept. 15 and muzzle loader season runs from Oct 1 thru Oct. 10th.Gun season opens Oct. 11th.and runs thru Jan.1st. Brraaaaahhhhhhh. Snort. Snort.

Stan in SC Stan-with a long deer season like that, is opening day a big deal or not so much? At most we get 2 weeks up here and the opener is a really big deal.

Maybe just one of the factors that SC is on my retirement list...just maybe. I think I get more excited about deer camp than I do about deer hunting. I think I'm going to have to lay off the hunting a bit as I have a boy who can actually hunt this year, and a soon to be step-son that his a hunting fool! If I head down the basement, he bolts to my side to see which hunting bin I'm going to dig through. All 3 of us boys have been figuring out the reloading stuff together. I'm almost set to charge up some .280 Rem loads. They're primed and ready to go!
