This is a GREAT John Ford Movie, but talk about bittersweet and somewhat depressing at the end. Love the movie, but it leaves me feeling down. Everybody dies, leaves the country, or lives a miserable life and the town goes to pot. Too true to life I guess.

I like the closing scene of Legends of the Fall, where the crooked politician and his cop henchmen are offed by Anthony Hopkins, as Colonel Ludlow, and his eldest son.
