Having a daughter that likes to hunt and fish as much or more than I do, just can't suck no way, no how. Pic's from the Lil' Miss Big Sky. Rabbits can run but they can't hide. Ruffed grouse aren't very safe when she's doing the spotting. She isn't old enough to shoot grouse yet, so she spots them for me. We make a pretty good team.
Is it Friday yet?

Looks like you have a good hunting partner for a long time for sure, or til shes old enough for boys ( as cute as she is it will be sooner than you think)
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Products of a little .410. Next trip the 541T will accompany us. Some days it's hard to know which firearm to take, but the choice of hunting partners is pretty easy.

What is the lower end of the age limit in MT? Here in ND youth are allowed to hunt with parent/guardian as soon as the parent/guardian will take them. Any birds the child takes are counted against the limit of the parent/guardian's limit until the child takes hunters saftey and can get their own liscence.

horse1, I wish it were that way here. You have to be 12 to hunt birds/big game. Rabbits, coyotes, and prairie dogs are fair game though.

That's simply terrific, Big Sky!
Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. -- Daniel Webster

Congrats on a father/daughter hobby! There is no better quality time than that!! Those are some fine looking grouse too, I've gotten a dozen myself this year, but none were that big. Hopefully little miss Big Sky continues to hunt with you even after the girls at school tell her it isn't cool anymore.

Congratulations. Not on the game you two harvested as much as the relationship that you've established with your daughter.
Enjoy all of it as much as you can and as often as possible. They will never lose the foundation you've laid, but they will quite naturally find other interests that consume much of their time in the near future.
Mine's twenty and there's no better hunting and fishing partner than my daughter. Each year I get a little less of her time, but she still always finds some time for dad and the outdoors.
Great pictures, better memories and a priceless relationship you share with your daughter.
