Came up in conversation on the Campfire a few weeks ago. I had forgotten about them so I promptly ordered one from. Hammond Game Getter He includes a swaging die so you can tap through buckshot to size to the appropriate diameter. That said, I used .310 diameter Hornady Muzzleloading Roundballs (.310 diameter). I didn't size them at all and they fit nicely in the case neck. I tried initially on another target and a center hold put them at the bottom ring (about 1" low). New target with sight almost at top ring. 3 shots at 20 yards using Brown (power level 2) Completely penetrated a pressure treated 1x4. Wife said 'You didn't shoot the eye out', which I didn't with the 4th shot on target, but good enough. It was a HOOT to play with. I'll be killing something with it soon.

Thanks Steelhead,
This is completely awesome. I've been using the Agiuia Colibri loads in my single shot .22 which are fun but this is better. The velocities listed are good info.
I have plenty of the .22 blanks as I use a Retreive-R-Trainer regularly

Nice! who sells the .22 blanks?
If nothing else, I could see using it to swage pills for the .25-20. There's also a couple of really lightweight Kimbers here, where it would be fun.

tex n cal; Good afternoon to you sir, I trust the weekend has been treating you well thus far and this finds you well.
If you look at the website he's suggesting only using power tool blanks and not starter pistol blanks.
Up here pretty much all the lumber yards will have a power tool section that includes different power level .22 blanks.
Its similar to a Hilti setup, but I believe typically the Hilti shots come in a plastic strip and the Winchester ones that we see up here are packed for individual use.
Hopefully that made sense and was useful for you or someone out there who's interested in these adapters.
As an aside, a friend of ours used to make them when he worked in the machine shop there in Edmonton.
All the best to you in your hunts this fall.
Dwayne

Again, they aren't 22 blanks, as in for a 22 pistol, they are for nail guns etc. Any hardware store carries them

Scott; I've been meaning to pick one up for awhile to play with as I've even got a .310 mold sitting doing nothing in the garage. In all likelihood it's going to be for the .30-30 - but then one for a .308 would be fine too - choices, choices. Thanks for the Ramset link too by the way as for the life of me I couldn't recall their name. We have them and Winchesters up here - along with the Hilti which again are in strips - but might be the correct size if you pulled them out? No clue on that one. Thanks for the links and report sir and all the best to you in your hunts this fall. Dwayne

I used to load my .308 with mil brass and those same .310" swaged balls. Standard LR primer and 3.5 Bullseye gave a great small game/short range load. Today, I'd use the same charge of TiteGroup.

I have a box of the green too, but I'm not trying to make it a Weatherby, so the brown's will work just fine.
The 310 balls obviously work well and it's one less thing I have to do to 'feed' it.

He was great. I told him what cartridge I wanted and he slipped it in the mail at the same time I sent him a check. Took exactly 2 weeks to make it from Canada.

BTW, you can prevent the chance of leading if you coat your balls (did I say that?) in some Lee Liquid Alox. One bottle is a lifetime supply for this use.
