I have been shopping online this afternoon for a holster to carry the new 327. It must have a secure strap with snap as handguns tend to migrate out of my holster when horse back or riding the quad.
I really like the looks of the Bianchi 5BHL or possibly the Bianchi 111 Cyclone.
I want the revolver to carry with the cylinder at the belt line.
Bianchi lists the SP 101 holster as also fitting the S&W 36, 37, 60, Taurus 85 or the Colt detective special.
Can some one recommend a quality leather holster of similar construction which will fit the 4.2 inch SP 101.

Simply Rugged makes their pancake holster for the 4.2" SP101, and it can be ordered with a strap. For use on a quad I'd go with an El Paso Saddlery Tanker Holster.

Thanks to each of you who responded.
Bob, After considerable time last night looking at products from Galco, Biachi, Simply Rugged and El Paso.....I think you are right.

Standard It looks like the hammer might get painful with the dunlap (in the seated position) using the crossdraw.

That set up 257 showed was mine... We hog hunt and use a lot of Simply Rugged holsters.. I have never had a strap on one of them as we have never needed them. You would have to be almost riding upside down to get it to come out. The tanker is awesome for riding ATV's as it is never in the way or rubs on anything.

HEY! I have not been upside down since I traded off the two wheelers for four wheelers!
Sometimes far from horizontal on both axis, but never upside down. GRIN
One of my buddies lost a Blackhawk a few decades back, from what he thought was a secure holster, while riding a two wheeler in the hills. We know who found it and took it home, but my buddy did not have the serial # recorded and could not prove it was his. BIG OOPS!
And last winter I found my single seven riding sedately on the floor board of my Vinson while out feeding stock. It had slipped out of the Bulldog nylon holster.
I am a bit gunshy of unsecured handguns, so I intend to err on the side of caution.

I have several of the simply Rugged holsters and all but the one for a 4" K-frame Smith has the safety strap...

Thanks for posting. I have to get one of these SP 101s before they quit making them. I've been waiting for the 4" 327. I don't know how I missed it.
