As in, ships with really strong hulls, that smash through ice. Apparently even O realizes we need more than two of them, with Russia trying to annex the arctic.
I wonder if we even know how to build the darn things anymore?

Ice in the Arctic? But I thought, didn't he just say, didn't Al Gore tell us?? So which is it?

I think the Rooskies have the biggest one, - a nuclear powered monster.
Kinda funny, a couple of years or so ago, their was a ship full of global warmers on a 'research' ship going to the Antarctic on a 'scientific mission' to document Antarctic ice melt. Well, they got stuck in the ice, and the Chinese sent one of their biggest ice breakers out to cut them loose. They also got stuck, and I think they were both cut loose by one of the Russian ships before our big ice breaker could get there.

Something along those lines but I think you are right, the Soviet ship did the trick.

While the "Cotter" is a primarily a fire fighting (oldest in the country and maybe the world) it also is a HD icebreaker in the winter. No, Obama can't have it... http://www.buffaloah.com/a/cotter/cotter.html

Ice in the Arctic? But I thought, didn't he just say, didn't Al Gore tell us?? So which is it? All lies are inconsistent with reality. The same goes for the globular warming lie. They are counting on the morons that voted for them not to notice the inconsistencies.

Yep, they're pretty important. When I served I think we had 6. Now we have two with one maybe not available. At least last I heard.

I don't know much about our fleet, but I'm guilty of occasionally watching YouTube videos of those beasts in action. They are very impressive machines
