Took one of these in on a trade deal. Accurate little rifle, but the trigger is atrocious. Haven't taken it apart yet--thought I might get some learned advice first. Thanks G

it's been years ago, but I procured some sort of replacement trigger or sear for mine. it helped it lot's. the place was up in Minnesota seems like. seems like it cost about 25.00. but it was right after the 597's came out.
put a burris hunter mdl 6x scope on it. it's a squirrel getter with win 40 grain power-points.

I saw that. pretty nice.
mine did not come from there. I've searched the internet and not seen an advertisement for the one I bought.
it does work fine. the 597's seem to shoot light out right out of the box, less the hard triggers.
it looks like they've de-bugged the problems from the early production models.

I bought a 597 when they first came out and quickly sold it because of the terrible trigger. A friend of mine bought it and after a while he found the target hammer. The difference was amazing. I was wishing I had kept it after I fired it with the VQ hammer.
