I am reloading for my buddy, I just received from stoney point, a modified 30-378 brass for measuring the OAL to lands on his Weatherby accumark 30-378. The oal to lands is 4.1025 and the book shows the max oal of a loaded cartridge is 3.648.. Thats a difference of 0.4545". Thats nearly a half an inch.. DARN,, Anyone else run into this? Why so long, At this length , there's no way to load within .010 off the lands. We load the rounds at 3.60" and this one particular rifle shoots like a dream but he has another that is a different story.. Any input???? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />

First time loading a Weatherby? They have a wee bit more free bore than other chamberings. Start at magazine limits and work down.

After I posted this, I read the nosler book again and they suggested doing the very same thing.
