I wouldn't rub my brothers nose in how good you have it in Seattle Rem6. Want the best for all your brothers I say..I assure you that you just lucked out with your VA and where you live.

No argument from me. The bad ones need straightening out and ten years ago is to late in my book. I really want to hear every Vet gets treated the way we get treated in the NW.

It's not that they don't have the funding, well at least since Republicans took control of congress shown in chart in pdf below.
Dems didn't make a push until the big expose' a couple years ago, then they beat the drum that republicans wouldn't fully fund

Glad to see that there are some VA centers that are treating Vets right. My wifes uncle went to one in Dayton and then was transferred to Cleveland Ohio . Not so good

This thread is almost five years old. I'm wondering if things have gotten any better for our Vets ?

The House could work on things like this, not be so mindful of having our President removed from office. Let's do something for the betterment of our Vets and our country.
I hope in the past five years things have gotten better.

Under that filthy animal before Trump, the VA was designed to get rid of Veterans , and it worked.

I know BHO was no fan of our troops.

VA should disappear, period. Should be akin to school voucher system.

The VA is charged with takin’ care of veterans. They get a couple of hundred billion dollars a year to do it. And they do everything they can to ‘not’ do it. But they still take the money.

ER nurse: How can I help you today sir...?
Veteran: I’ve been havin’...(at this point, it doesn’t matter what it is or how long it’s been going on)...I called the VA and they told me to just go to the ER.

We see LOTS of VA patients in the ER for non-emergent problems. 24/7/365.

VA should be done away with, period.

Service connected issue, go to local doctor ( or one on the approved list), be seen and treated. End of story

VA, now has, Community Care, I, urge all Vets to contact them.

Exactly, and exactly why it should disappear. Tricare or whatever can pay for service related issues, utilizing local medical facilities. You can have a paper pushing/bill payment, whatever section, but the doctors/hospitals etc should all be gone.
