As I've just implied on another thread, I have a conscience already and don't need another one.
This means that I don't need for anyone here to be telling me how I should post or behave. I respect everybody here, but with all due and undue respect, I don't know of anyone here who's qualified to be my conscience.
If I err in manner or fact, correct me with specific details. But leave any high-toned notion of the superiority of your morals inside your own gourd. The Campfire doesn't need it any more than I do. (edited to add: ... and disagree with me all you want about other matters.)
Thank you!
(I realize, of course, that this post will develop into a long thread of posts from self-anointed vicarious consciences.)

I agree with you Ken and I think others reserve the right to say the same...... I have a conscience already and don't need another one.

A model of consistency, for the adage: "Do as I say,not as I do".
Compelling...give or take.....................

Ive been expecting you wondering whod be leading the pack. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> You dont mind, do you, if I ignore your post? If I ever need a psycho-analyst with a spotting scope and a blow-gun, can I call on you?

Now, now, girls. Everyone put away your field hockey sticks and get back to your studies and dreaming about the prom.
Sheesh.

Damn Ken, you are a high maintenance model. Nope. See to yourself and leave the me-maintenance to me. Simple. (Yet the crowd will gather, to scold unasked and unqualified. Just watch 'em come!)

Sometimes, high maintenance is well worth the benefit that comes with it. Like paying for college.
Sometimes, high maintenance is just putting up with shrill shreeking. Sort of like a gaggle of teenage girls. JMO, Dutch.

I particularly "appreciate" the volunteered loan of "conscience" from the Campfire compadre who sent me several messages to arrange to visit me here on his way West last fall.
I postponed a scheduled trip back up to Montana for another installment in my move South, to be sure to be here for his visit which I anticipated with eagerness. Promised him good, comfortable over-night accommodations, which he indicated that he'd stop here for.
He notified me of his progress at several points in New Mexico east of here, and I replied. All expectations were that he'd get here at an uncertain hour late on a certain date the date that we were exchanging messages.
Next thing I hear from him comes in a message from 'way west of here. He'd gone right on by, without telling me that he'd changed his plan for some reason. Still hasn't said a mumblin' word to me about that.
Some conscience, huh? Should I pay any attention to his comments on how I should think, behave, whatever?

Sounds like they were on the receiving end of a poor upbringing and haven't bothered to correct it themselves. I'll readily admit I would've been fuming were I you. rsy

A model of consistency, for the adage: "Do as I say,not as I do". There is no way I could possibly agree more. The only person on this board who starts posts telling others how and what they can post and then starts posts asking others to not tell him how to post? Wierd. Chuck
