You've seen these before, but here's the pics of the 4 bulls we took in the limpopo, in July 2008. My son, Dan. My buddy's son, Adam. Doc Charlie, my buddy. My bull, taken with my Marlin 45-70 guide gun. maddog

Some really nice Kudu there fellas (and gals!).
Every Kudu is a trophy.

Had a big wide one like that give me the slip years ago...still haunts me... I have one that is about 40 inches between tips, but that one is wider than that.

This thread is freakin' awesome!! I remember seeing this prior to my Zim hunt this past August, and thinking, "yeah, they're nice, but meh..." because kudu just didn't impress me until I actually saw them in the wild and hunted them. Now, post-hunt, I've gone back and looked at these pics and I'm lovin' it! I think most of you guys have seen this, but it's my favorite trophy, and I'm almost afraid to admit, it was a relatively easy hunt. Spotted him whilst driving a dry river bed, he ran off and we tracked him for all of five minutes. He stood broadside at 125 yards and the 375 did the rest. 58 3/4" very tight curls. I totally hear you on that! My kudu was a gift... we had spotted and stalked kudu every day for 3 days running without a chance of a shot, then this old fellow presented himself at the side of the road just prior to sunset. I'm not smiling in this pic because it was the most bizarre and improbable kill I've ever made. It was only after my PH and I got back to camp and talked the events over until they made sense that I was able to start smiling, and I'm smiling now as I type this. A memorable hunt for an incredible animal, wonderful memories.

A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
