Why don't you come down here. We have Micky Mouse and a hog hunt or two.

As a matter of fact, I'm sitting in a stand right now. What are you doing? grin

Got extended family and clergy friends there. Been there: like my marshes, etc.

It's a nice place for sure. We hosted the 1982 World's Fair for six months and I hated to see it go...had a great time since I had a season pass. I got to see Red Skelton at the Ampitheater one evening.

Don't much care for Mickey Mouse, Rev, but was fond of Goofy.:)

You guys are missing out on a tremendous deal. I hate to consign this beauty to the back of my safe indefinitely.

I'll be up that way - actually in the Irwin area - in the next few months or so. But sell it if you can. You're right: it's a tremendous deal.

Anyone who has received a Shipped Rifle from me knows this works well.

1. Wrap the entire box with brown paper. Like wrapping a present.
2. Put the Ship To address on an envelope and tape to the outside.
3. Wrap the entire box with shipping tape...Every square inch.

The thing will float and you don't ruin an original Winchester Box which increases the value.

I am seriously thinking of buying this rifle and paying Xtra for you to package it this way.

Let me see if I can move a couple of things and barter the work on my M3 for the extra cash.

Robert

Hope you're at least bringing your own 7x57 if you don't buy this one. There has been at least one episode of an elephant needing a good killng in Irwin. I suspect no 7 mm Mauser could be found, as the townsfolk had to resort to hanging the pachyderm

I remember reading about that. Wasn't that back in the 20s or so? And didn't they use a crane to do it?

You can find perfectly good boxes at Lowes or Home Depot. Look in the curtain rod section. Cut the box as needed and use shipping tape to secure it. Shipping the box inside another box is the only way to do it right. It might take an extra hour to source the box and all that, but it's the right thing to do. When Winchester shipped that rifle, I am sure they did not ship it in the factory box with some paper taped around it. The factories all ship a box inside a box.

Yep. When I bought mine from Cabelas, It was in a Winchester box, inside a plain, brown cardboard outer box.

I showed this to a couple of my antelope hunters in NM last week when it was posted and we all wanted it. I can't believe it hasn't sold yet
