Someone in another thread about stock texture asked me to post results on my latest little project. I bought a B&C Alaskan Wilderness stock for my Model Seven Remington, and was never quite happy...it seemed "chubby" compared to their other Ti Clones...I measured it against a Ti and sure enough it was.... Being too cheap to fork out the $$$$ for a Manners or another McMillan, I decided it was hoof rasp/ Rattle can Rembrandt time Stock as original..... Gonna be hard to see the dimensional difference....but the forend isn't as wide, the wrist isn't as wide, and the comb has been lowered.... Paint is made to adhere to plastic, spray webbing used for texture between coats, Krylon webbing on surface, and a couple coats of satin finish clear fixative... You gotta trust me...it feels better even if you can't see the difference!

I'd be afraid of cutting thru the "skin", ruining the stock.
Obviously you got away with it. Is the B&C laid up over a core like other fiberglass stocks? With some of them, you don't want to compromise the outer layer. I have several B&C's. Never cut into one.

There are layers of fiberglas under the 'skin'. A rasp showed me that Sandpaper and web spray cover a lot of ills.....hint.

I can drink bourbon better than I can rasp a stock..... I drank some bourbon and then rattle canned a stock here lately. Haha. The runs in the paint tell the story.

Bourbon drinking might be fatal...but I don't see it as a flaw.....

I actually mixed some bourbon and coke together on this last Canadian fishing trip. It was damn good!
