What would a fair price be for a 99DL cut checkering in 300 Savage ? Bluing and case hardening are 100℅ and it has a Marbles Game Getter mount and a Simor 3-9x40 scope.

Never heard of that scope. Sure it isn't Simmons maybe?
I'd give no more than $500 for it but others will likely say higher.

Definitely a Simor, had a local guy tell me that they were made in the early 60's.

Cut check 300 DLs aren't easy to find. Much, much rarer than Win cals. If it's that close to mint, I'd go up to 7-750. I've been looking for one for years now.

Just shows how prices vary, one just listed her on an gun site at $1,200.00AUD thats about $900.00 USD, cut checkered but very nice condition. I think he's dreaming.
I did see a minty 308 win at an auction two years back, cut checkered, minty condition made $650.00 AUD.
We don't see a lot of 99s in 300 sav down here.

If it has a 24" barrel it's a really early (rare) one. And then there is condition, condition, condition. To me that's a collectible rifle. Some here don't agree. But my attitude is that differences of opinion is what make the world go around. I wouldn't try to put a price on it without pics.

I would give you a buck.fifty for it. I would walk right past it without even picking it up if I saw it at a show- but that's just me. I do the same when it comes to Weatherby's, plastic stocked Remington 700's, and purple-haired multi-pierced overly tattooed but otherwise nice girls too...
I agree it is undoubtedly a collectible, just not for me to collect.
