About 750 yards from my house, there is a park and ride and bus stop. Early this evening, there was a "man with a gun" incident there.
I went out to pick up some pizza for din-din, and my usual way out of the neighborhood was blocked off, along with one end of Antelope Dr., which as a major thoroughfare, and Hwy 89. A passing neighbor had the intel on what was going on. I called my daughter, who lives close by, and told her to gather her children, lock her doors, and cock her pistol.
Spent a little time with my dad, stood in a long line for pizza, and when I came back, the police blockade was still in place. I suspect there were a lot of really ticked off people trying to get home.
The usual news outlets don't seem to have any info on how the situation ended, though I did see a couple of ambulances headed toward the scene, in no particular hurry.

My neighbors have a problem with a man with a gun near here too.
Beware of thieves, scammers and dishonest members on the "Fire" classifieds. Ya there is a thief here too. Whatever!!
They're all around the CampFire and everywhere.

There's a "man with a gun" everywhere I go. It's hardly a press worthy incident though.  Hope they got that one resolved.

There's a "man with a gun" everywhere I go. It's hardly a press worthy incident though. There's one with at least 2 guns everywhere I go

18 year old druggie got shot near the Nebraska capital yesterday for running from cops while waving a 45 around. Wouldn't drop the gun, wouldn't stop...
End of story. In critical but stable condition today.

Laughin'.... Yeah, there's usually a gun wherever I go, too. But so far, the police have not surrounded me and pointed guns at me.
So far, no news reports about the incident.

Here's the story from our local newspaper:
A 24 YO had traveled from Spokane, WA to Layton, UT to once again have sex with a 14 YO girl. Warrants had been issued for the previous encounters. Spokane police had information that he would be at the park and ride, and Layton police moved to arrest him. Rather than surrender, he stabbed himself several times, and is now recovering in the hospital. He probably won't breathe fresh air again for a while.
So... no gun. Still, a good enough reason to stay away, lock your doors, and to remember that that kind of thing can happen about anywhere.

"Messing" with a 14 year old girl had a name when I was younger... but don't see it anymore.
They were called "San Quentin Quail" if you were dumb enough to have sex with one.
For those who may not know what "San Quentin" (spelling?) was... it was a prison.
It's smart to hang around old guys 'cause they know lotsa stuff...
